And now the UNIT HQ tie-in website has six people from Pete's World dimension-cannoning themselves into and out of the UNIT Tower <https://www.doctorwho.tv/unit/mission/void-stuff-tracking-report>. (And has a member of UNIT staff called Songul Mantar, which appears to be Turkish for "last rose mushroom".) That can't fail to have some impact in the main TV continuity, can it?

This would be a welcome reinvention, after it became stuck in the Russel T Davis cul-de-sac.
I think the best modern run of Doctor Who so far was the Peter Capaldi/Steven Moffat one, but the original Russel T Davis one was very good too.
What if the thing Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright are teasing is that they are taking over Doctor Who for the next era?
Simon Pegg would actually make for a great Doctor. Edgar Wright Doctor Who would be so cool. Nick Frost would be an interesting companion.
