Better yet, make time in your schedule *today* to go over what to expect with applicants you know. Show them your previous assessor reports, & how you responded.
Before all the emotion hits on Monday!
#DECRA applicants, the rejoinder period begins on Monday (25 May).
You'll get reports from "detailed assessors" – people in your general field, but not necessarily experts on your specific research.
Reports will appear in your RMS portal, normally around 11am Canberra time (but it varies).

It turns out that there has been exactly one (1) early career research grant in this year's #DECRA round in Pure Mathematics.
One.
These grants can be make-or-break career moments for aspiring junior pure mathematicians in Australia, because there is literally no other research grant they can win, to impress prospective university employers.
For comparison, there were 9 in total across pure, applied, statistics, mathematical physics; 11 across 'physical sciences'. And 46 in engineering.
For those who missed it:
On Friday arvo ARC said #DECRA outcomes would be announced on Monday (today). BUT they accidentally made a document public on their webserver revealing the successful grants.

It's very common to get As/Bs from your Detailed Assessors but Cs/Ds/Es from the General Assessors. The thread explains why.
