For now, the crit knife is apparently un-nerfed. I had a lower level one and I followed a suggestion that worked and was able to find a level 50 version.
It's a random world drop, but if you focus on enemies that drop a lot of purples, it makes it easier.
I went to a ripper drill site and kept farming these 3 bosses. I got a bunch of knives and eventually got the crit knife.
