Who should take this survey? People who do oral history work or have done oral history work within the last 5 years, who work within any field or fields, who are based in any geographic location. “Oral history work” refers to conducting oral histories for any purpose, working with oral histories for any purpose, managing oral history materials as archival assets, teaching oral history, or working on projects that include new or pre-existing oral histories, such as films, exhibits, podcasts, or books. What is included in this survey? This anonymous survey asks questions to better understand who is doing oral history work, how oral history work is taking place in various fields and contexts, oral history work/life, and workplace issues. Questions are organized into 8 sections: ORAL HISTORY WORK, CAREER IN CULTURAL WORK, COMPENSATION FOR ORAL HISTORY WORK, BUDGETING ORAL HISTORY WORK, RANKING INTEREST IN WORKPLACE ISSUES, TRAINING IN ORAL HISTORY, & DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION. Why take this survey? Responses to this survey will help inform future organizing and advocacy efforts to support people who do oral history work in various fields. RESPONSES ARE ANONYMOUS.
