Cornelius Agrippa was a 16th-century German physician, knight, and occultist. His occult writings drew upon Kabbalah, Hermeticism, and Neoplatonism. Agrippa was said to be accompanied by a huge black dog he liked to talk to; many people claimed the dog was his familiar.
