Some of the extensive remains of Roman Corbridge in Northumberland. A wonderful site with a great museum. πŸ“Έ My own. #RomanSiteSaturday #RomanBritain #Corbridge #Northumberland
East of Corbridge, on the path to Riding Mill. I had to turn back soon after this photo, as the trail was all broken up and it had become a pain to navigate between brambles. The signage I eventually found (behind a wall and facing the wrong direction!) says the path is closed due to river bank erosion - so there!! 🀣

The early 14th century Pele Tower at Corbridge in Northumberland. Built of stone from the Roman fort of Coria (Corbridge), it served as a fortified residence for the vicars of the nearby Parish Church of St. Andrews. πŸ“Έ My own. #MedievalMonday #Corbridge

I'd planned to process this in colour. There was a light mist and the sky had an almost tobacco colour where the sun was breaking through. But a test in monochrome changed my mind! This is from a bridleway above #Corbridge in the Tyne Valley. I'd walked down from Aydon Castle. An afternoon wander with no particular plan. πŸ˜€ #Photography #BlackandWhitePhotography #BlackandWhite #Northumberland
