The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) extends its gratitude to the communities impacted by the May 26 “do not flush” notice for reducing flows by approximately 50 per cent, enabling workers to repair the sewage leak.

The Comox Valley Regional District had issued a "do not flush" order to residents in Courtenay, K’ómoks First Nation and Comox because of an emergency failure at a wastewater pump station undergoing upgrades. As of 6:40 p.m. PT, the regional district says repairs have been successfully completed.
