Today spoke at #tropAG2022. I reflected on the nature of genetic variation that is useful for agriculture and how sampling populations under stabilising versus directional selection can impact how we interpret the distribution and abundance of allelic effects and, therefore, the type of available variance for breeding programs. Also, I made an effort to highlight how evolutionary geneticists and breeders should talk more often to one another 😃. #CoEPlantSucess #UQnews
