This time tomorrow I’ll be with my family, with probably a glass of wine in hand and relaxed on the couch with Mum and Dad watching something on SBS with subtitles. I can’t wait. Two whole weeks with my family. It’s the only time I get to see them all year. I’ll see the brothers a few times over that period.

I’m looking forward to hearing Dad pull out his guitar and practise for his gigs (he’s a great entertainer and I love to sing along with him quietly from the next room), and his incredible cooking (I always lose weight when I’m home, no matter how much I eat or drink).

I’m looking forward to talking books and plants with my mum and our special, just us, shopping day. To just being able to hang out and have quality time with her.

I’m looking forward to catching up with friends I only get to see one a year.

I’m not looking forward to the inevitable “so are you dating anyone?” from my brothers and my standard response of “still no”. But I’m still looking forward to seeing them both.
