The b-story is the best thing here.

In the a-story we learn that Kim can’t cook. An uninspired plot idea. Her kitchen shenanigans don’t generate laughs.

Meanwhile, at work, acting-boss Gary (#ChipZien) accidentally blows up a building. Much more amusing.

'Harmony' Review: Barry Manilow's Broadway Musical

Manilow and Bruce Sussman's musical about the Comedian Harmonists bosts good love songs and strong voices, but lacks emotional depth.

#AlmostPerfect s1e8 (1995) - 8/10

1️⃣ All the best/funniest scenes are the ones with #LisaEdelstein as Patty and #ChipZien as Gary. In sharp contrast to our smitten protagonists, they are a couple who fight all the time. And their dialogue is hilarious.

2️⃣ This constant bickering spills over into the romance of Mike and Kim. But the battlegrounds they fight on (salaries, children) are too cliched to make much impact on the viewer. Still a funny episode, however.
