I found another book about #CharlesPeale ’s work on the first #AmericanMastodon skeleton! This one uniquely focuses more or less exclusively on Peale’s involvement, and doesn’t go for the typical hook of framing the story around #ThomasJefferson ‘s interest in natural history.
