I had the honor and pleasure to visit Castle Leod in Scotland recently. There is a chestnut tree planted in circa 1550 on the grounds.

Storm Floris broke off a couple massive limbs - the only tree on the entire estate damaged significantly by the storm.

Still, a magnificent specimen for a #ThickTrunkTuesday.
