Just to see if there was a reaction, I sat with Mum and watched an episode of “Doctors”. In it, an elderly parent was manipulating an adult child into looking after them, and had been for 25 years.

It washed over her completely, not even a flicker… Sadly, unlike the character, I don’t have an ex-girlfriend in LA who is going to ring me up and ask me to move over there!

I mean I like corned beef as much as the next man but even so... My mother is 86, but I am fed up with eating like we are in the 1940's and still have rationing. There so many foods she won't even try, she won't look at a chilli.
