Douglas Laing & Co. #whisky bottler just announced a new expression in Old Particular series. It’s a 12 yo single cask from Cardhu distillery. Only 274 bottles and cask strength. Price is unknown now.

woollypigsHa! I just realised that about 33 years ago I was in the Basque country just south of San Sebastian on a EU exchange student thing. We stayed in a small family run hotel in one of the villages up in the mountains behind San Sebastian. At night the hotel turned into the local bar and one regular whom we met every night during our two weeks there, introduced us to the whisky called Cardhu. Since then I've had a soft spot for this wee dram. This only came to my mind today, after I picked up a bottle of Cardhu 200th anniversary wine cask edition. As it was on offer in a local supermarket in the Basque country just south of San Sebastian ;)

Keine Rauchnoten großartig, dafür hat er leichte Schärfe und leicht karamellige Vanille-Noten
Für einen ziemlich jungen doch recht gut.
