When I think ahead these days or talk to the kids about plans and ambitions, I get this nagging sense of futility which brings me to a silent halt. Anyone else get the same feeling?

I've even stopped fighting the local council ars*h*les who want to build some overpriced lego houses on arable land, calling it progress. I now want to see their equipment drown in the flood they'll create when they open the water table.

I watched Tower Bridge washed away in a surge tide in my dream last night. I watched with a mix of horror and resignation, knowing my own govt building would be next, and that was it and no one was coming to help.
