How I wish we had these in #nyc Last week I learned that #ccny #cuny prohibits e-bikes in its buildings— and they don’t provide secure bike storage. The campus already has loads of electric car chargers. It would be so neat if they led the way with micro mobility e-vehicles, too, w secure parking

Next week at the club having lunch: 
Gil (scraggly, flip flops): you can’t afford me
Mel: well, what do you need?
Gil: my guys get $25 each a night
Mel: (does quick math, $300) what about you?
Gil: I get twice that, $50
Mel: what if I guarantee $350 a night, plus you get 80% of the door?
Gil plays the next Monday, 3 sets in those days (10p, 11:30p, 1a), makes $1500 with lines down the block, becomes the Monday night from then on. Love it!

Great afternoon in the music department, hosting Mel Litoff, former owner of the Sweet Basil Jazz Club, and sponsor of our Sweet Basil Jazz scholarships. My student, Carlos Ordaz (whom I co-advise with Jimmy Booth at #CCNY) has had his FIRST paper published. Its about #AtmosphericRiver and #ClimateChange

Specifically, we looked at what will happen in the future to these storms (and what happened in the past)... and not just the easy answer either (easy= warmer air holds more moisture and thus bigger storms)... dynamics, too.

Helpfully Gothamist gives the context that only 20 complaints wrt these #protests compared to 750 during the 2020 George Floyd protests. Not clear the start end dates for this context.

And Hard to know if that’s an improvement without having a guess for the relative number of protestors. (Were 2020 #blm protests 40x larger? Seems possible.)
