Let’s say I’m interested in (re)reading all the historical novels from the “Age of Sail, naval warfare” sort of category. So definitely the Aubrey/Maturin, Horatio Hornblower, and the Thomas Kydd books. Probably also the Temeraire series (even though it’s not quite “historical” … because dragon combat can be at least as interesting as box-hauling a sloop to avoid a lee shore.)

What other novels/series am I missing?

Edited because the phone decided to capitalize “lee.”

Trying to review every book I read in 2023. The first is The Lucky Thirteen by Brian Lavery. It's the story of the Hull trawler St Finbarr which sank on Christmas Day 1966. I'm not into non-fiction in a big way but was impressed by the standard of writing. Not a stiff starchy book but a story brought to life.
