I've just finished reading The Faith of Beasts, by James S. A. Corey.

It's the second book in The Captives' War series, and by the same authors that wrote The Expense series of books and TV series.

It's an excellent read, and I can't wait for the third one in the series, and hopefully a TV series too.

I've finished reading This Way Up. It's about maps, that went wrong.

It's a good read, but htyerr were several chapters that were written in a novel way (as a video transcript, a series of letters), and I found distracting from the a tail content. It'll have worked better in a produced video.

No mention of @openstreetmap though :-(

This is probably the shortest chapter I've ever read in any book. And it'll likely stay like that.

I've finished reading Children of Memory, the third book in the series.

Another interesting take on forms of intelligent life.

A fourth one is going to get released later this year.

I've just finished reading "A Cheese-Monger's Tour de France", by Ned Palmer.

Now I want to try many of those! 🧀

Reading Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Could be my first five star book in a long time. Brilliant so far #bookstodon #books #booklist2026
Just finished A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. What an utterly brilliant book. I’ve rated it 4 stars but it is one that is going to rattle about in my head for the next few days and may very well be upgraded. Next up, Artemis by Andy Weir #bookstodon #booklist2026
Finished my first (to my knowledge) Japanese book, Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. This one hit me in the feels. An inventive book with a lovely twist on the traditional rules of time travel. Not quite sure if I will read any more in the series but enjoyed this one a lot. #books #bookstodon #booklist2026
Finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. This is the first book I've read by Jackson and I enjoyed it. Some beautiful prose and left me with a lot to think about as all good books do #bookstodon #books #booklist2026

I've just finished reading "Children of Ruin", by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

The second book in the series, following Children of Time (the one with the spiders).

Great read, but a little creepy at times.
