It’s Memorial Day here in the United States. This weekend serves as the unofficial start of summer for the country, as schools start to let out for their summer breaks. Backyard barbecues abound, families take time off from work to go on vacations, and, for me, the 2024 North America drum corps season starts!

Many drum corps across the country have already started their seasons, moving into various locations to begin their month long preparations for their seasons. As the drill sets and choreo are learned while much water is consumed and sunscreen is applied, I’m scanning the schedule to see what shows I will attend.

This season, I have performances on my schedule once again. While I am retired from marching after the 2022 Bluecoats Alumni Corps, I am going to play with the 10th anniversary Bluecoats Legacy Arc.
