11年後のレッドリスト｜アオサンゴ：低懸念のまま、数は細る【IUCNレッドリスト比較】
今回は、アオサンゴ（学名：Heliopora coerulea）と、「陰と陽」の話です。2014年の図鑑では、地球規模の気候変動で海水温が上がっていく中、このサンゴはとくに影響を受けやすいとして、「VU：危急」と評価されていました。一方で、2026年時点で確認できるIUCNレッドリストでは、インド洋から西太平洋まで広く分布していることが評価に反映されて、2023年の再評価で「LC：低懸念」へ変更されています。地域によって被害が出ても、種全体がすぐに消えるわけではない、という見立てです。だからアオサンゴは今も、「低懸念のまま、数は細る」状態なのだと思います。この記事は短く、5分で読めます。よかったら最後まで読んでください。
