dansupI know a lot of people in the fediverse do not like TikTok, Reels or Shorts, aka short form video.
But, I really do believe that we can solve many of the negative and toxic aspects of a platform like that by building it carefully, and around small communities that need a better and safer alternative.
Video has become so accessible and cheap in terms of encoding/decoding and storage, that it's no surprise that it's the most popular medium.
