CouverdudeI don't consider myself a lube expert, more like a connoisseur. In the interest of sparking discussion "What's your go to lube for solo play?"
Here's my picks & opinions in order of preference:
#batorbalm : I prefer scented. I both love and hate that it's greasy and lasts a long time. Cleanup can be annoying and only feels "done" after soap and water, but if I'm going to shower afterwards anyway, I'm all for it.
Warm Massage Oil: I am a big fan of massage play and use an oil warmer with Earthlite's Pro-Lite massage oil for rub downs. Again, it's the greasy part that does it for me. If I have the time to heat it up (or "forget" to turn the warmer off after giving a rubdown), the warmth brings a nice touch when dripped over the head, down the shaft and onto your balls. The "lite" oil makes for easy cleanup in the shower.
Water Based: If I'm just looking to bust a quick nut, water based is the way to go for me. I like a thicker consistency. Some brands are better than others when it comes to staying power. I hate anything that turns into glue after 5 minutes (looking at you Astroglide).

These next few I am just not a fan of.
Spit: Free, convenient (mostly), but unless it's got a little extra going on to keep it slippery until the flood of precum gets going, it's not going to do it.
Albolene: Call it "fragrance free" all you want, I just don't like the smell of it. I'd rather use unscented Bator Balm, Vaseline or baby oil.
Silicone Based Lube: Yes, it's very tactile, soft, long lasting and great for shower play, but that's why it's so difficult to clean it up. It stains bedsheets and undergear, and can destroy silicone based sex toys right before your eyes. The only reason I have it is for occasional butt play with bottoms who prefer it.
