In my ongoing obsession with "part 2" films: #BasicInstinct2

Yup, it has nothing on the amazing original. Yes, it's hopelessly derivative in its attempt to recreate known moments. Yes, it has no ambiguity. Yes, it's all about thrill on the surface, zero subtext, no deconstruction of anything.

Honestly, I expected much worse. It has good sets, good camerawork. My favourite shot is the one attached: did anyone hang someone? Calm reaction from him. Cut, tension diffused.

I think i'm losing my mind because i'm enjoying Basic Instinct 2 a lot more than the first film.
