Ben WalkerIt’s so nice to see all the #bandcamp activity over here (and #bandcampfriday right now). Loads of people recommending bc as a good way to support independent musicians, some fun #bandcampwrapped moments and a healthy dose of caution and cynicism about trusting any company to do anything good for very long. Feels like talking to musicians and music fans at a gig, which is totally my comfort zone.
Benjamin Mørk mics his piano in intersting ways, often picking up the squeaky mechanical sounds that aren't intended to be recorded, then combining those sounds with electronics. He calls this “mechanical piano” and I can't get enough of it. His music is simultaneously big and small, acoustic and electronic, epic and simple. Perfect for fans of #fourtet and #JohnCage.

My most played album of the 2022 is "God's Country" by #ChatPile. I hadn't heard of Gnome or Chat Pile before this year, now they seem to be all I listen to. This album has a great flow. Heavy sludge riffs mixed with punk. Favorite track is “Why” Perfect for fans of #JesusLizard

I'm not huge #Spotify fan. I'd rather buy my music from #Bandcamp, where artists get a significantly larger portion of sales. Many of my favorite bands can't be found on Spotify anyways. Hell, I don't post my music there anymore.
Bandcamp doesn't keep track of what music I listen to outside of their website, which means they can't make a cool #Wrapped graphic for me. So I decided to make my own graphic instead:
