#Introduction

We're a small bunch of friends that call ourselves a "crew" or in this case a "society", playing records, cd's, flacs at concerts and local internet radio, going to concerts and festivals, and hanging out playing music for ourselves. "Duizend baasheid" literally translated means "Thousand bossness", so I guess some youthful overconfidence was in place. Although, admittedly, we weren't that young anymore when we started getting together to play some tunes. Originally, we only played vinyl records, hence the "Wax" in our name. But the space in our houses is limited, as is the amount of money on our bank accounts, so we also buy and bring music digitally these days, e.g. bought from artists on #Bandcamp.

All this originated at local music venue #Ekko, in #Utrecht.
Since I [AB] felt that I did not want to continously post about music on my personal Mastodon account, I set this up for me and friends to geek about music more, without any reservations.
You won't find us posting any spotify links. Nor links from any other of the major streaming platforms. We don't like them.
Music that we will post will often be of smaller bands/acts that we think are awesome, have seen live, would love to see live, will never see live because they may be old and disbanded by now. And genre-wise, it will be mish-mash, although we certainly love our #PostPunk.

Our profile picture is a number of Kaiju / giant monsters in front of Mount Fuji. We got this avatar assigned by Stranded FM when we started our radio show with them. Not sure whether this means we're regarded as a bunch of dinosaurs there, or whether it's just a sign of us being awesome. Our header picture is one of our play lists, that we typed on an old school type writer <3 available at Stranded FM's studio: 25 songs in three parts, split by dashes which indicate us talking, covering 2 hours. Bands listed range from Dutch musician #Machinefabriek remixing #Balmorhea's song "Remembrance", Dublin-based punkers M(h)aol #Mhaol, Montreal-based BIG|BRAVE #BigBrave to Japanese pop musician Haruomi Hosono #HaruomiHosono.
