A frosty Kylebeg Wood, just opposite the brewery, this morning.
About eight years ago, we cut eight oak trees from this wood. Seven of them went to make whiskey casks that were then filled with Dair Ghaelach Midleton whiskey. The eighth was rejected, because the grain pattern was wrong, so we've sawn it up and used it to make the tables and bar counter in our visitor centre.
The view from the top of the farm - the Kylebeg Wood in the middle, joining onto Coillte's Oughaval Wood. The hedge nearest the camera has been there since at least the 1500s, and the rath beside it is a lot older than that.
Delighted to have been shortlisted to defend our national Small Firms Association sustainability award in 2023. Best of luck to all the finalists - it's a great set of awards to be part of.
All quiet here now, but not for long, with our final public tour of the year due in this afternoon. We're fully booked, but we'll be back again with more tours in 2023.

The 2022 vintage of our fresh hopped pale ale is heading out from the brewery today. Freshly bottled yesterday, it's made with 100% water, barley and hops from the farm. A bit more citrus in this year's version, coming from our own Centennial hops.
