This is a great crash course video on making doll clothes. I took fashion design classes back in highschool and this touches a lot of really important concepts. (most not all) Also grain direction really does matter. Most fabrics have a stretchier side and less stretchy. Grab a few pieces of fabric, even your own clothes. Look for the direction the fabric grain is and pull then do the opposite directions.
