Tonight, this guy stood in front of the pre-heating oven and barked. I called him off, “Bandit, it’s preheating, nothing is burning.” He followed me out of the kitchen, barked, turned and went back to the oven. There was no smoke, no smell. But he’d alerted me of a pan left on the stove before, so I said “ok Bandit, I’ll check.” There was a sheet pan with oil on it in the oven that would have caught fire had I not removed it.
