Spend a fruitless hour or so looking through 'A History of Mathematical Notations' in search of the elusive #angzarr. No luck, but what an infuriating book. Both the table of contents and the index reference the _paragraph_ number, not the page number!
U+237C ⍼ in H. Berthold AG (1950). Berthold-Zeichenprobe, Probe Nr. 360 E. page 7, described as "Azimut, Richtungswinkel". #angzarr

@11011110 At least these symbols have a meaning! But nobody knows what “Angzarr” (⍼) is and why it is in Unicode (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angzarr).

Did you know that „⍼“ (the #angzarr) is a #Unicode code point nobody knows the origin of? 😁

⍼ FEELING RATHER #ANGZARR TODAY, FOLKS ⍼

Love this modern day geeky #Unicode #mystery: no one knows where the character "⍼" (right angle with downwards zigzag arrow, #angzarr) came from or what it means.

Part 1: https://ionathan.ch/2022/04/09/angzarr.html
Part 2: https://ionathan.ch/2023/06/06/angarr.html

It's just been passed forwards in time, from standard to standard. I wonder how many other such characters exist, or will exist in the future as their past is lost to time.
