My own copy of "The Night Winds" is a studio performance by Rosemary Tuck. For a little more information about the album it is from, follow Mastodon's WilliamVincentWallace hashtag.

Though William Vincent Wallace is remembered mainly as an opera composer, he wrote music for popular songs, he was considered to be the greatest violinist in the United States in his time, and he was said to be about equally gifted on piano.

I watched Baz Luhrmann's #Elvis last night. It's a marvelous film: camera work, editing, costuming, choreography =brilliant. Tom Hanks is excellent, but Austin Butler glows & outshines in every scene. My Q is about the story line, specifically of Elvis cradled by Black blues & gospel musicians & embedded in the Black community. How true is that? Was EP really so tight with the Black community, then? Was he as anti-racist, anti-segregation as Luhrmann's film implies?
