Stefan F. Wirth#Lauxaniidae (#Acalyptratae, #Diptera) are smaller #fly species that often prefer the proximity of forests. Their #larvae, as a #saprophagous developmental stage, feed on dead wood or other decomposing plant #debris. The author, C. H.
