Two of Souma’s fiancées (later wives) are from long lived races - Aisha the dark elf, and Naden the Ryuu. That’s something that he needed to address - all else being equal he was going to die long before they even started looking older.

Dojyomaru is clearly a man* of culture given the number of #ARIAtheANIMATION shoutouts he* squeezes into #RealistHero but this scene here is almost a direct quote from one of the better episodes in #ARIAtheNATURAL

@ami_angelwings I’m a huge #ARIA fan and it’s always a hard call but I’m going to land on #ARIAtheORIGINATION over #ARIAtheNATURAL because of all the payoffs you get in that season.

@ami_angelwings For me it’s when supernatural elements intrude into #ARIAtheANIMATION, #ARIAtheNATURAL, and #ARIAtheORIGINATION.

I would much have preferred such a cheerful, utopian (legitimately good) world to be “mundane” SF that argued, that, yes, humanity can ***actually*** grow the fuck UP already and build something that good.

I do sometimes love how specifically Japanese cultural tropes pervade the pseudo-European setting of Neo-Venezia on a terraformed Mars (Aqua). Of course a “Search for Spring” in #ARIAtheNATURAL ends up at a blooming cherry tree. Because #OfCourseItWould
I mean, OK, the Fox’s Wedding bit is cute and all but… #ARIAtheNATURAL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitsune_no_yomeiri
Kitsune no yomeiri - Wikipedia

Currently watching the supernatural(ish) episode of #ARIAtheNATURAL that’s set around a recreation of the Senbon Torii currently in Kyoto on Aqua (Mars). It’s OK…but I’m generally not a fan of the supernatural elements that turn up in #ARIA occasionally.
AHHHHH Euphoria, the #ARIAtheNATURAL OP.
