With #Watco owning the tracks all the way from Toledo to Cadillac, I wonder if they'll quit switching out locomotives north of #AnnArbor? And will the number of trains through town increase? https://www.michiganfarmnews.com/owosso-s-great-lakes-central-railroad-acquired-by-watco-holdings

The low pulsating engine grumbles, horn honks, and jackhammering you hear near lower Summit are just a crew replacing rotten railroad ties on the Ann Arbor Railroad tracks.

I had not realized Watco had this acquisition scheme in play. Interesting that it would move towards re-uniting the #AARR as it existed pre-1970s. I wonder how it would affect/increase rail traffic through A2—would they quit switching off locomotives north of town and just run them straight through? https://www.freightwaves.com/news/regulator-concerns-pause-watcos-michigan-shortline-rail-deal

Does anyone know the backstory on why the Annie is pulling so many long (?)grain trains through #AnnArbor this week? Tonight's count was 4 locomotives and 100 covered hopper cars rumbling through. #AARR #railfan
