Zacharias Ursinus, German Protestant reformer, discusses Christianity and humanity. Humanity is the love of others, good will in mind & heart, demonstrated in word and deed. The scriptures call this love of neighbor, and philosophers Humanity. It is the Golden Rule.
Today, how many people would feel a little uncomfortable tying Christianity to humanity?
How can you declare in words and deeds, a love for neighbor?
John Fryth, Protestant #martyr, speaks of the prime importance of seeking to give honor to God. And that is to be done through obedience, naturally. The one commandment he mentions here is the bestowing of one’s goods in mercy, making a hint at Matthew 25’s day of judgment.
Is this not what we expect to hear from those gave life for faith? Shouldn’t that be Rx be hours of prayer or something?
