Today's penultimate prompt word for June's #30words30days on Bluesky and Twitter is "yawn". Took me a moment to write this amazing, unmatched and beautiful 30-word story. But I may have to leave my phone at home if I ever travel to Trump's America! 🙄

The President has centre stage and is grand standing his AMAZING achievements, UNMATCHED wisdom, and BEAUTIFUL hair. I'm nodding my head behind him, eyes fixed, smiling, and stifling a yawn! ✍️

Ha! This post popped up in my Facebook timeline memories AFTER I'd written and posted my 30-word story for today's #30words30days prompt word, "yellow":

Yellow daffodils remind me of happier times in England when winters thawed. "Look, the first daffodil of spring," I say to my wife. "It's a jonquil," she retorts without looking. ✍️

The flower in post is not a "silly daffodil", it's a jonquil, as my wife corrected me in 2023! 😂

The prompt word for today's #30words30days story on Bluesky is "yield".

By coincidence, I'm currently reading The Yield by Tara June Winch. I bought the novel after she won the Miles Franklin Award in 2020, but to my shame, it's been sitting in my to-be-read pile ever since.

However, The Yield is this month's selection for my Indigenous Writers Book Club and I'm loving the book! So, I paid homage to it with today's 30-word story:

The police found him dead in bed, crushed by his pile of to-be-read books. But he was smiling, with The Yield propped on his nose, opened at the first chapter. ✍️
