Ended the weekend and started the week with Stikling by Blue Lake released on Polychrome in 2022

Jason Dungan who is Blue Lake writes:

"This record began in summer 2020, when I was staying at Andersabo, Sweden, where I run an artists' residency. I had access to a nearby church, and would set drones going on the organ while playing clarinet and piano. I started working with the combination of these long, sustained tones, combined with acoustic instruments, where the sound's duration was only as long as a breath or the pluck of a string...

The word “stikling” in Danish means a cutting taken from a plant that is then set in new soil..."

The Voice of Drums, featuring extraordinary drum virtuosi Simon Barker and Chloe Kim. Premiering to wide acclaim at the 2021 Sydney Festival, this major new work offers an opportunity to reflect on the current disruptive challenges we face, with bush fires, a global pandemic, civil unrest and a growing ecological disaster." Slipped into sleep and greeted the Monday off work with Lost in Abstraction by Amanda Whiting, released on Jazzman Records in 2022

".‘Lost in Abstraction’ was written during a period of the unknown when Whiting, like most, explored her own sense of self. The world paused, with no timeframe, and the fragility of life was laid bare. A time when humanity was left searching for purpose. Freedom and the dependable structures of familiarity were dissolved in most aspects of life. But music stayed constant. Creativity kept weaving its thread, connecting music and its makers in an indissoluble bond..." - Bandcamp Description

The Arts Fuse

I unfortunately don’t have data from music played in the car (it’s a Tesla Spotify account), but my LastFM (inaccurate) data from last year states that my top played artist was #PublicEnemy with #HowYouSellSoulToASoullessPeopleWhoSoldTheirSoul by them being the top played album. My top track was the always powerful #FinalImpact by #FrontLineAssembly / #FLA.
