A friendly reminder for all of you who were on Team Jacob back in the day. (I actually thought of this tattoo when I was forced to see this film back in the day) #twilight
I hate installing apps on my phone and seeing ads online. When I use Facebook on my phone, it’s a special version I hacked to run in Firefox with various addons. I trick the site into thinking my mobile browser is Chrome Desktop, remove ads with FB Purity via Greasemonkey, and fix display bugs using Stylus. This took some effort, but it keeps the FB app and its ads off my phone. Also… I may be slightly out of my mind.
I was around 10, and my brother Lorne and I were looking at a photo of The Beatles. My mother pointed at Paul and said "That one is very good looking". We were shocked (my mother didn't listen to rock) so Lorne pointed at a picture of The Rolling Stones and said "What do you think of them?" Mom pointed at Charlie Watts, and Lorne asked "you think the drummer is good looking". She said without missing a beat "No, I think they're all ugly. He's just the least ugly one".

I regret not going to any of the Humberside reunions over the years to say hi and tell her how much I appreciated all of that. She made being at H.C.I. memorable. I'm really sorry to hear she is gone now and I won't be able to tell her in person.

Rest in peace, Miss Keele. You were one in a million. (4/4)

I will say being Hairless Joe in L'il Abner was one of the highlights of my time in high school -- and she didn't yell at me when I ate a rose on stage when it was given to me unscripted. I figured it was something in character, much to Davoir's (the one who played Abner) chagrin.

She was kind, funny, warm and all the students I knew absolutely loved her. She *was* the school spirit of Humberside. (3/4)

Miss Keele gave her time every year to put on Humberside's then famous high school musicals, and encouraged Lorne to be a part of it (my favourite role of his was Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady). Even though I wasn't in any of her classes, she saw me enough around the music department to give me roles as comedic relief in several musicals. (2/4)
When you are a kid, the adults that matter are the ones who give: their time, their energy, their positivity. They care not because they have to but because they just do. Janet Keele was a teacher who just did ... and more. She was one of five amazing music teachers at Humberside C.I. during my time there. She was so important to my late brother Lorne -- she gave him the love of music, of theatre and was an important reason why he decided to become an actor. (1/4)

Dear @[email protected] Can you please change your font from this Ultra Light weight to something more readable? It is so hard to read your otherwise excellent content, even when I resize the font. #a11y

I wish I’d had the chance to say goodbye.

RIP Carl “Casey” Anton. You were a hell of a guy. I miss you, Case.

In recent years, he lived alone in Oakville. We tried to convince him to move closer, and six months ago nearly succeeded in getting him into my dad’s retirement home—but he wanted to stay independent. In November I tried calling him, but got no answer. With my dad’s health issues, I didn’t follow up right away. When I called again today, his number was out of service. A police welfare check later, I learned he had passed away in November after a fall. He was 94. (4/5)
