18 November 1942 | 44 Poles transported by Germans from Warsaw were registered in #Auschwitz.

No. 75886 was given to Wiktor Tołkin who was released from the camp in Feb 1944 thanks to his family efforts.

After the war, he designed monuments at the Majdanek and Stutthof Memorials. Have you seen any of them?

We have decided to create an account at Mastodon. We need time to learn how this platform works but also how to synchronize our work here with the Twitter account.

Thank you all for joining us here. No matter where we are, the mission stays the same. We are in social media to commemorate the victims of Auschwitz and educate the world about the tragic story of the camp.

#introduction So I'm Zorro Notorious MEB aka Buck Borasky, Frontier Programmer. I'm a retired scientific applications / operating system programmer who's too lazy to blog and whose hobbies all involve computers. Right now it's mostly weird electronic music and the computers are mostly synthesizers, both analog and digital.

I do have a blog though. Somewhere. I just updated it a week or so ago. I think. Yeah.

Just moved from Twitter. Still unpacking my virtual boxes. Any fellow writers, authors and booklovers over here?

Does anyone know if Planet #CCRMA repos for Fedora are still being updated? The website only talks about support for Fedora 30 although the repos technically work on my latest version of Fedora.

Yet another insightful question about my engagement with mastodon here.

If I'm going to be honest, my perspective hasn't much changed about Mastodon except insofar as I've learned more disturbing things about the history of users of color and other marginalized groups on the platform. I've also learned some pretty not great implications for the existing affordances of the fediverse, many of which I've outlined in other places.

I promise not to "quote toot" like this often but my reaction to @shengokai 's thread is to jump around and loudly yell THIS THIS THIS! https://zirk.us/@shengokai/109362341909821896
