We often call them "freelancers." We should call them "founders." The new ecosystem rewards the specialist who builds a direct relationship with their niche. When you own the tech stack, no algorithm gets between you and the truth.

Journalists often spend hours verifying a single claim. An automated pipeline can execute evidence retrieval across thousands of databases in seconds. We are trading hours of manual searching for minutes of high-level judgment. Scale the research, not the writer.

We often view "needing support" as a flaw of the junior employee. But the confident senior who assumes they know the scope needs just as much management. Support isn't just for the struggling. It's for the sprinting. Finding the "sweet spot" on the spectrum is how we scale teams.

Great read on content moderation. Generative AI, Live-streaming terrorism, on-demand radicalism, balancing first amendment rights and safety online. I like the “demote but keep on platform” route, but what do you think?

English does hold a tight grip in the training data used for LLMs. Everything is english based and that makes the model lose context about different cultures, languages, and people in general. I love this work and improving how these LLMs get data and diversify its data is important.

🧠 Just finished watching the Chris Hemsworth series, Limitless, and I think to overarching theme is "Growth lives outside your comfort zone".

We often seek comfort, but the most powerful piece for human growth (both mentally and biologically) is to embrace being uncomfortable. Whether it’s a physical challenge or learning a new skill, pushing into new territory forces your brain and body to adapt, build new pathways, and become more resilient.

What challenge are you taking on this week?

Just spent a week in the Indiana Sand Dunes, and it was incredibly refreshing. 💕

Remember take time for yourself sometimes and refoundate. It can be wondefully helpful!

I just finished reading "Staff Engineer: Leadership beyond the management track" by Will Larson (https://staffeng.com/book/) and it was an incredibly insightful look into the Staff role. The interviews with Staff+ engineers were especially valuable, providing a real-world view of how high-leverage technical leadership operates.

The book led me to Tanya Reilly’s seminal article, "Being Glue,” (https://www.noidea.dog/glue) and it immediately resonated with my own experience...
