@jalefkowit This kind of change usually happens gradually. I think CEOs of the world are currently competing to be perceived as understanding the "AI shift" best, which explains these kinds of mass layoffs well as a publicity stunt.
@fifonetworks firefox does offer a lot of good options to improve privacy but it takes a lot of work making sure they're all turned on.
@metacurity It will happen within the next three months because Mythos is nothing special, it's just an iteration on a theme.
@simon_brooke @kim_harding Productivity was always definitely going down in the short term. This stands out as one of the few times people have been asked to radically change their ways of working while also being expected to produce significantly more than ever before.
@kim_harding This is how automation works; you end up combining the workforce with it. Weavers become loom operators and production goes up.
@Daojoan Prediction markets are a type of betting, the rise in which is a symptom of economic pressure on the working class, and a recession indicator. People don't generally gamble when they're happy with their financial life.

Shout out to #Anthropic for changing the pricing in a non-transparent way. I run claude code review on PRs and it's used all its quota a week into the month.
