As I continue to explore #kdenlive I was pleased to see there is not only a way to comprehensively remap #shortcuts but I can actually generate a config file so anyone else can make use of the layout. I'm currently porting #davinciresolve
shortcuts and for those functions that don't have a direct correlation I'm making shortcuts that fit the same #language The project is available on #github now:

Shout out to @nuxttux and the tutorials for @kdenlive As a long-time Resolve user I have yet to do any mission-critical, "pays the rent," projects on it but honestly I'm getting closer. I'm dabbling with some test sample footage from my film "Indigenize the Plate." It debuted on PBS 2023 w/ strict broadcast requirements and a workflow that could keep apace. I would love the next thing to be on a #foss platform w/ #opensource tools.

The end of the #MacPro feels like a more than just the end of a product line. It feels like the last part of Steve Wozniak's vision of an #Apple that encourages modularity, personalization, and homemade innovation. The more #macos feels like #ios the easier it is to further embrace #linux, #foss, #opensource and #community driven experiences.

My first attempt at properly editing something on #kdenlive I've edited simple stuff shot on my phone but this is raw LOG footage from my cinema camera and applying LUTs I've created from power grades developed in Davinci Resolve. Hoping to share something soon! I was thinking about sharing the LUTs if anyone is interested.

As a longtime #davinciresolve user I'm giving serious thought to embracing #kdenlive in my creative and professional workflow. Full 10-bit support and GPU acceleration might be the thing to seal the deal but in the meantime I've been turning my node trees into LUTs so I can bring my preferred looks to the system. This will definitely work well for content I make on social media at least as a practicing ground. Any interest in these LUTs?

If you're a #screenwriter #contentcreator or #filmmaker
and you use #Fountain syntax for distraction-free writing this might be for you. I too like getting my first #draft this way but the long list of #monochrome text makes it hard to quickly skim scenes, dialogue, etc so I made a highlighting feature for #kate on #kde and #texteditor for #gnome so I can navigate a little easier. It's now up on #github! Of course also works on Kwrite!

I'm not a serious #gamer so I won't be breaking down benchmarks or anything. As you can see I'm playing something that is nearly 7 years old! All I want to say here is that ever since my first install of #ubuntu in 2010, I am thoroughly impressed how far #opensource #technology has come in both capability and ease of use. #bazzite has been nearly a console-like experience for me. So grateful to have access to #freesoftware like this.

I've been trying #kate #kwrite in @kde for my work as a filmmaker. I've found .fountain syntax useful for distraction-free #screenwriting but it's hard to quickly scan through my script when everything is just a long line of monochrome text. Taking a queue from highlighting in #code, I'm making a custom #XML so kate can auto highlight scene headings, transitions, and dialogue as their own #colors. I'll share it soon for others who are interested.

W/ the PSR issue addressed I've been on a "shakedown cruise" with my new #linux set up. Running #bazzite in #kde on a rescued XPS 9500 (i7 10th gen/1650 TI), added a 32GB RAM upgrade, a 2nd SSD is on the way, and did a battery replacement. Also removed all traces of #microsoft stickers 😂 Though this is not a gaming laptop it runs the 5ish year old games I'm playing just fine. I'll share some more on that in my next entry.

First major hurtle in my #linux experience. I was totally convinced these visual #artifacts were the result of the Optimus/GPU switching challenges with #nvidia that are ardently being addressed with the #nouveau #drivers. After digging around posts I found out it's an issue with the PSR or Panel Self-Refresh. Apparently my hardware doesn't play nicely with this feature but switching it off was easy and omg it's such a smooth experience now. #bazzite #steam
