I think my new aesthetic might be “high powered sprite art on a black and white tv” after setting my neo geo up to one
My personal copies of my book arrived! What a surreal journey this has been and I’m super excited for people to be able to read it soon enough!
(It goes on sale next month as I’m told, I recommend it!)
Very tired after putting in quite a bit of time this past week wrapping up a lengthy video about the Bally Arcade platform but I think folks are gonna love it. I love contextualizing old game history and the unique story of this platform and the hundreds of user-made programs, demos, games and hardware deserve to be more well known.
Went to a friend’s birthday gathering last night, where many an old and weird fighting game was played. My contribution was Eye of Typhoon for the 3DO, an obscure, Korean-exclusive game that actually is pretty good! Every character seems to be overly strong in their own way.
Recorded a podcast about Streets of Rage 4 and this basically summarizes the discussion
Analogue Pocket arrived today so of course I had to test it with two favorites
We may have lost 3 birds recently but the rest of the flock is quite happy as long as they get mealworms.
Success in my type-in efforts after several runs through the code to fix transcription errors (and make sense of 40 year old shorthand that the conversion tool needed help with). Here is Falling Stars for Bally BASIC, sold on cassette tape in 1981! The cassette version is lost, but a type-in listing was sent privately to the Arcadian newsletter's publisher, and thanks to a scan of that, I was able to bring this program back to life.
Finally got Spectrum set up on the Mister and had to bring out everyone’s favorite boy
I am pretty sure I cannot love any animal as much as my longboy cat
