I have come to the conclusion that there are committees of end users tasked with sitting around and brainstorming novel ways to break shit

A thought I keep coming back to:

If programming is a large part of your life (professionally or not), then it's remarkably difficult to completely waste your time while programming.

It often _feels_ like it, whenever you didn't solve the immediate problem. But skill is your most important resource, and every line you write trains and builds skill.

Even code you shouldn't have written, or that reviewers hate, or that doesn't work.

Sometimes it's _only_ practice – but that's still not nothing!

If you revoke approval of the polio vaccine, it means you want more polio. That’s not even a joke, that’s just math.
One of the curious upsides to discovering you have #ADHD as an older man is that suddenly other people have an easier time finding presents for you...
I predict a wave a very talented Australian hackers in the near future.
Pardoning Hunter doesn't go far enough. Trump is going to use the justice department for his own personal interests. He's going to persecute his personal and political enemies. Biden should blanket pardon everyone.
An awareness of other's advantages in life shouldn't create within you an envious hatred towards those people. Some people are exceptional. That doesn't make them inherently good or bad. You may attribute their exceptional accomplishments to their advantages, or hard work and dedication. Or most appropriately you can see them as a total person and can appreciate both. In any case, one should not demonize the exceptional purely for being exceptional, regardless of how they arrived.
I started bouldering about 8 months ago. Last month I went to a bouldering competition. I did as well as I could have hoped. I finished all the recreational routes. There were people there who were amazing. I don't think that if I were to do this for 20 years that I could ever achieve the amazing things they can do. I choose not to dwell on the advantages those folks have. This is an expensive hobby, which I only recently could afford to participate in. I was not blessed with athletic genes.

If you're still calling it a #lifestyle, you are so #OutOfTouch it's not even funny.

People are born #LGBTQIA and deserve to live and love in the way that makes them happy. Get over it!
