#Mozilla is offering $300 USD to test their new #AI Window feature in #Firefox for a week.

This is the most I have heard of Mozilla paying for a user study, and I imagine it must be since AI is so generally unpopular (apparently, only the #iranwar and #Democrats are less popular, per recent polling).

Did anyone else sign up to be informed about updates to AI window and get this offer? Are you going to take part?

I have the "kill switch" enabled, but I have a 57mb model on my disk that I surely didn't ask for.

The model page on Hugging Face is: https://huggingface.co/Mozilla/static-embeddings which doesn't tell me anything about its purpose in Firefox.

Yet it concludes with some mealy-mouthed stuff about it not being worth worrying about health risks from drinking, even though doctors unambiguously say to not start drinking.

Why can't they give us the straight answer? Moderate drinking is bad, actually.

People have accused me of writing clickbait, but I at least try to deliver on the bait.

Vox, please do better. This is crap.
