When I've tried to avoid social media platforms in the past (especially Twitter/Bluesky) because of their obvious terrible impact on mental health, I've found it makes me just feel like a sheep with blinkers on walking into the slaughterhouse instead. I thought maybe I could fix that by subscribing to a newspaper.
Unfortunately all that has done in practice is given me a supplementary delivery of different bad news.
