Kîšâc is a word from Swampy Cree which means “ahead of time / in preparation / with a view to the future”. For you it means a community where Indigenous youth can learn together, connecting through cultures.

Interventions could be having a real impact. Treatment options, including lifesaving opioid reversal drugs like naxolone, which people regularly carry with them, or programs to reduce the stigma of drug use or educate young people on the dangers, might be making a dent. But the illicit drug supply is always evolving. The unpredictability of ingredients is what makes accessing this uncontrolled supply so dangerous.

Overdose deaths are falling. Will fentanyl crackdowns change that? | CBC News

It's taken years for observers to see these kinds of widespread fatality declines, but people in harm reduction are worried the drug supply could become more toxic if authorities restrict the supply of fentanyl too quickly.

We are excited to announce that the Ontario Native Women's Association (ONWA) has chosen to support us for 2025.
Recognizing the impact of Y4Y’s work, ONWA generously donated all proceeds from the recent She is Wise conference raffle draw to support our programs. This contribution will help ensure that youth continue to gain valuable skills, knowledge, and teachings to one day step into leadership roles within their communities.
