À mes amis francophones, j'ai déménagé. Je vous invite donc à me suivre sur @xuv #Merveilles.town.

À tout de suite?

I joined #Mastodon.Social during, what will be known as, the great transhumance of April 2017. But it's time for me to move again. I've come to find #Merveilles.town as a place where I would feel at home. It's also a way for me to find a smaller community while still staying connected to the rest of the #Fediverse. And I look forward to that. So please click the follow button at @xuv if you want to stay in touch.

Hello Merveille.Town. I'm really happy to join you. I'm in the process of moving from @xuv. Once I'm all set in, I'll be properly doing an introduction. In the meantime, looking forward to read you.
@Gargron It's an interesting approach. Filling the page with toots of different sizes is inviting to quickly scan the page and have a rough overview of the times in which those toots appeared, without being too precise and linear. It's probably the best way to fit as many toots as possible and give a quick impression of what that hashtag is about.
I kind of feel bad for the guy who has the account @[email protected]
@mookie From experience on Mastodon.social. I must say that the local timeline is still manageable. The federated timeline, on the other hand, is unreadable. But I do hop on the local one once a day if I can. Just to take the temperature.
@lightone I think the whole point of relays is to circumvent this federation "problem". But I don't think a lot of mastodon (or else) instances are using this.
@lightone afaik, tags don't reach out other instances if no one follows that particular account.

In order to fight against #spam, large #mastodon instances should just turn on subscription by invitation only.

Large instances become an interesting target for spammers. Small instances, not so much. Those brand new spam accounts are looking for the largest audience. Since they are not followed by anyone, their spammy content will probably not reach anyone beyond the instance where they set themselves.
