True classroom story from 10 years ago.
Today 8th period was working at their desks...Muddy Waters was getting his Mojo Working on Bluesville. A young African-American man in the back of the room asks, "What kind of music is this.? "This is the blues", I proudly reply. He responds with, "Can we change this cause I don't think black people listen to the blues!"
The next day his father calls to tell me. "Thank you for educating my son!"
