I am a self-taught computer programmer with a passion for technology. My primary focus is on secure, reliable, and efficient software development that scales to meet the needs of the modern web. I have been writing since 2010 and I have had contributions published in magazines such as 2600: The Hacker Quarterly.
My background in technology & information security allows me to bring a unique perspective to my writing. My work has also been cited in scientific reports, such as "Future Casting Influence Capability in Online Social Networks: Fake Accounts and the Evolution of the Shadow Economy" by Matthew Duncan, DRDC Toronto Research Centre.

I used to think that AI was the toddler and that it had a fork which it .. occasionally shoves into the electrical outlet. Then I read things like this and I realize that maybe vibe coders are the toddler, and AI might just be the fork.

@jjx It was very interesting for sure! But now I look at all of these bot-farms pushing propaganda over social media and it's just outright terrifying! Take what I had and attach an LLM, and the present state of things is what you get. Maybe I went too far? Ideas can be dangerous after all. 🤣
Certainly this was just bound to happen eventually.
@jjx I wish anything as cool as writing a book! I wrote an article for 2600 magazine called "Twitter for fun and profit" which got cited in a paper by Defence Research and Development Canada.
I published the article in 2011 and it was basically PoC source code for doing social media psyop campaigns with automated network of twitter bots. Now after 15 years have passed I feel like someone took the idea way too far! So I'm not sure if I can say that it's my best work but here is the publication info for the research paper which cited my article anyway:

@memeorandum Imagine being blocked because they suspect you are robot while meanwhile robots are out here with captcha solving capabilities nowadays.

What to put in your AGENTS.md?

@patrickcmiller I like how it's not even polymorphic as it's name would suggest. It seems like the authors maybe intended for it to be and didn't pay attention enough to realize that it isn't? I'm not too certain of my statement there but oh boy I would love to get my hands on this source code that these researchers are doing code review on.
I may have made a thing. Said thing may not have been very well contained and it probably upset a few people.. I'm truly sorry for that. It won't happen again.. for now. Deciding next steps. This is all that I will say for now.

After writing about how the US is using AI in the Iran conflict it has come to my attention that Ukraine is using fully autonomous #AI systems their own conflict against Russia.

Ukraine's AI Drone Autonomy: From Human-Controlled to 'Fire and Forget' in the Russia War

In the grinding Ukraine-Russia conflict, drones with AI terminal guidance and last-mile autonomy are hitting 70-80% targets—pushing closer to true lethal autonomy than the US approach in Iran. Ethical red lines blur on the front lines.

@Vonskinnback @xtaldave 🤣 💀💀💀

The industrial military complex is using AI in warfare and it's absolutely terrifying! While US law may rule in favor of no-autonomous usage of AI in battle, other nation states may not follow suit. The rise of the machines is now becoming a very real possibility though be it in, very likely to be, a far different way than the Terminator franchise' spin on the story.. and of course all time-travel fantasies aside.
