A lot of people spend a lot of time trying to get a perfect shot. I don't consider this shot perfect in any way, but I showed it to a buddy of mine and he suggested I share it.
In June 2025 I went to a They Might Be Giants concert and was right up against the stage to be able to get this picture.
Walked by this switch-shaped drainage grate this morning and I half-expected Link to run up and stand on it to activate a new door nearby.
Two years ago I lost a scarf that a friend made for me. I'd lost the friend ten years earlier. So I decided to learn to crochet and made a replacement. It's a bright banana yellow thing with a little black tip on one end. Single crochet stitches only. It's a simple thing, but it accents my winter peacoat nicely and it's soft and it's mine.
Last week I met some friends for drinks at a wine bar and as I was leaving a man rushed outside to stop me and ask me where I got my scarf. "I made it," I told him. He looked so disappointed. I wondered if I should offer to make one for him or not, but he just thanked me and went back inside. "Crochet," I told him. "it's real easy." He seemed unconvinced.
In short, I really don't see people changing their minds just because their Windows 10 systems are end-of-life now. A few people have signed up for the year of ESU support just to put the decision off for another year, but I'm guessing even this is not a significant enough number of people to change next year's holiday sales numbers, either.
